One of the method that is used by laboratory to test the effectiveness of the elimination of heavy metal from our body is the hair analysis. The structure of our hair that consists of a shaft, and this is arranged around a central core. There are many layers of protein that protect the hair.

The hair root is anchored to the scalp and nourishing these roots are networks of delicate blood vessels. Vitamins, minerals and trace elements are delivered via these blood vessels to the hair. That is why the hair can accumulate more than thirty minerals and this is why hair analysis is used to trace accumulation of heavy metal toxins within our body.

Heavy metal enters our body in many ways. They can enter through the food that we consume, the water that we drink and also from skin contact. Heavy metals are found in pesticides, insecticides and in many industrial chemicals.

There are many types of heavy metals that are dangerous to us. Arsenic is the most common heavy metal poisoning found in adults and they are released into the environment during smelting process of other metals. Much of arsenic poisoning happens through the seafood that we eat.

Other than arsenics, there are also other heavy metal toxins that are quite common to us. The common ones are lead, mercury, cadmium and beryllium. Lead is a very soft metal and is commonly used in drains, pipes and soldering material.
Accumulated lead will cause damage to bones, brain, blood, kidneys and our thyroid gland.

Mercury is generated naturally in the environment. Cadmium is a by-product of the mining and smelting of lead and zinc. Beryllium is found in mineral rocks, coal, soil and volcanic dust. Different types of heavy metal toxins will cause different damage to our body.
